Should you rent ski gear in Bansko or fly with your own? For most holiday skiers the answer is short: rent. A full adult ski set (skis, boots and poles) costs €94 for 6 days at Ski Mania – under €16 a day – and you pick it up a few steps from the gondola base station. Bringing your own means paying an airline sports-equipment fee for every ski bag on every flight leg, dragging a two-metre bag through two airports and a transfer, and hoping the edges arrive straight. For many travellers the return-flight baggage fees alone come to as much as, or more than, a week's rental in Bansko – before you count servicing, wax and the lost time.
Still, there are skiers for whom their own kit is the right choice. Below you'll find our complete 2026/27 rental prices, a worked cost comparison for a family of three, exactly what is included in a Ski Mania rental, and the cases where bringing your own gear wins.
All prices are in euros per person, as loaded in our online booking system for the 2026/27 season (12 December 2026 – 11 April 2027). Book on banskoskimania.com and you get a 10% online discount on top.

The costs here are harder to see because they are spread out, but they are real:
For a family on one ski week a year, renting is cheaper on the day and far cheaper over the years. Our guests also tell us it is simply a more relaxed way to start a holiday.
Renting from us is not a queue at a counter. This is how it works:
If you are combining rental with lessons at our ski and snowboard school, you collect both your gear and your lesson voucher at the shop the day before, and you meet your instructor at the shop by the gondola.
We rent skis for a living, but we will happily tell you when your own kit is the better choice:
Even in these cases, the "own boots, rented skis" combination is the option most of our returning guests settle on.
If you are past the intermediate stage, our premium sets give you current-model skis and boards with more edge grip and stability at speed: a premium ski set is €140 for 6 days, a premium snowboard set €176. Compared with flying your own high-end pair, that is a small price for skis prepared before every hand-over.
For those who want to leave the pistes, we also rent ski-touring sets (€176 for 6 days), cross-country and telemark sets (€140 for 6 days) and snowshoes (€60 for 6 days). Bansko sits on the edge of Pirin National Park, and a day on skins or snowshoes is a very different way to see the mountain.
The quickest way to secure your sizes is to book on banskoskimania.com: pick your trip dates, add rental for each person – and lessons if you want them – and pay a deposit. Our team confirms availability by email, and you get a 10% online discount on the prices above. Questions about sizes or special requests? Contact us on +359 87 8676 012 or office@banskoskimania.com.
At Ski Mania an adult ski set (skis, boots, poles) costs €18 for one day and €94 for six days. A children's ski set is €13 for one day and €64 for six days, and children's helmets are free. An adult snowboard with boots is €25 for one day and €130 for six days. Booking online saves a further 10%.
For a one-week holiday, renting is usually cheaper. A full adult set is €94 for six days, while flying your own skis means a sports-equipment fee on each leg of the flight plus annual servicing, wax and transport. Owning only pays off if you ski many weeks a season or already have custom-fitted boots you want to keep using.
Yes. Skis and poles without boots cost €15 for one day and €76 for six days. Many experienced skiers travel with their own boots and rent the skis in Bansko.
You can collect your gear the day before your first ski day, after 15:30, so you can be on the gondola at 08:30 the next morning. Overnight storage at the shop is free throughout your rental.
Come back to the shop and we will swap them. With more than 500 complete sets we can almost always find a better size or a different model on the spot.
Our main shop is at Pirin Str. 92A in Bansko, next to the gondola base station and its parking, with a second shop at Pirin Str. 113. Both are open 08:00–18:00 daily during the season.
